Architectural Project Manager - Consultancy

Our Regional Engineering Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Architectural Project Manager to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on prestigious new projects in the region. Successful candidates will have a proven background as an Architectural Project Manager on new build projects in the UAE and wider GCC. Candidates must have worked for a recognised architectural and design consultancy client as a Project Manager


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed by our client.


Key Responsibilities:

  • The role of the Architectural Project Manager is to ensure efficient day to day management of projects and ensuring they are in line with design intent.
  • The project leader takes responsibility within and outside the Studio for the management of a project, including the staff and resources involved in the project.
  • Dealing directly with the client in a supporting role to the Senior Management and establishing and maintaining the day-to-day management of the production and delivery of the project.
  • Maintaining regular contact with the client during the project and after handover
  • Liaising constantly with the Senior Management on the status of current and future resource needs and reporting immediately on under or over utilised resources
  • In conjunction with the Senior Management, planning the project from a financial and strategic viewpoint, and monitoring performance against that plan. Taking action when adverse variation occurs
  • Reporting regularly to the Senior Management on project performances against the strategic, financial and time planning requirements, on any necessary corrective action needed or taken and, on any work, required or carried out which is outside the conditions of engagement on that project
  • In conjunction with the Senior Management production of a project plan and the implementation of the plan through all design stages
  • Monitoring the performance of the project design against the requirements of the appropriate statutory authorities
  • Advising the Senior Management immediately upon becoming aware of any circumstances that could lead to a claim for non-performance or negligence.
  • Directing project staff in the production of the services contracted for under the project conditions of engagement in accordance with a project plan.
  • Reviewing all project correspondence, meeting notes and other data to keep fully informed on the project
  • Ensuring that inward correspondence is directed to the appropriate person and that a prompt and adequate response is made to the matters raised
  • Monitoring the performance of sub-consultants on the project for whom we are responsible and the taking of immediate steps to overcome non-performance or other difficulties
  • Assist in the monitoring and reporting upon the performance of staff resources assigned to the project
  • Ensuring that the project is managed effectively and with foresight and to maximise profit within the context of other responsibilities
  • Ensuring that the project is conducted with professionalism and skill, and which is consistent with objectives and Business Plan
  • Ensuring that all project risks are identified and mitigated in coordination with management
  • Ensuring that the client's requirements, needs and wants are met within the terms and conditions of engagement and fee
  • Through professional Leadership, to assisting in raising the standard of knowledge of staff engaged on the project
  • Lead the coordination of the project design and project team, including all subconsultants


Architectural Project Manager Experience:

  • Professional degree in Architecture with 8+ years of total experience,
  • Experience in different types of Building and Complexes, Residential, Mixed use, Hospitality, High rise, retail etc.
  • Capable of communicating with stakeholders and senior leadership in a clear and concise way.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within an international architecture firm
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Project Leader/Managerial position within the Gulf Region
  • Proficient skills in Revit are essential
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Suite and MS Office programs
  • A proven record of project delivery, in a hands-on and supervisory capacity, on time and within budget
  • Deep understanding of design best practice, tools, techniques, market trends and product innovation
  • Understanding of procurement processes
  • Proven track record of achieving results through influencing and relationship skills
