Architecture Engineer - Consultancy - 6 Month Contract

Our International Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Architectural Engineer with experience in leisure and entertainment projects to join their team in Dubai / Dammam (KSA). Successful candidates will have strong Architectural Engineering experience working on offshore or theme park projects and ideally have worked for a recognised PMC / Consultancy business.
The project is located in KSA, visa, accommodation and transport in the Kingdom with be provided by the client.
This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 6 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Collaboration:
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and other engineering disciplines to develop and refine architectural designs.
- Provide input on design feasibility, functionality, and constructability from an engineering perspective.
Structural Analysis:
- Perform structural analysis to ensure that architectural elements, such as walls, roofs, and facades, meet safety and stability requirements.
- Verify that the design can withstand environmental forces and other load factors.
Material Selection:
- Select appropriate construction materials and finishes based on their structural, aesthetic, and functional properties.
- Consider factors like durability, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness when making material recommendations.
Code Compliance:
- Ensure that architectural designs comply with all applicable local & international codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards.
Sustainability and Efficiency:
- Incorporate sustainable design principles into architectural plans, such as energy-efficient systems, environmentally friendly materials, and green building certifications.
- Optimize building envelope designs for energy efficiency and thermal performance.
Technical Drawing and Documentation:
- Create/review detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications that clearly communicate design intent to construction teams.
- Maintain accurate records of design changes and revisions.
Cost Estimation:
- Collaborate with cost estimators to assess the cost implications of design decisions.
- Help control project costs while maintaining design quality.
Project Management:
- Assist in project management tasks, such as tracking progress, managing timelines, and coordinating with contractors and subcontractors.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure that they align with the architectural design.
Quality Control:
- Implement quality control measures to verify that construction work adheres to architectural specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and quality assessments as needed.
Problem Solving:
- Address design and construction challenges that arise during the project, proposing practical solutions while preserving the architectural intent.
Communication:
- Maintain clear and effective communication with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
- Provide regular updates on the status of architectural engineering activities.
Innovation and Technology Integration:
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in architectural engineering.
- Evaluate and recommend the use of new tools and technologies to improve design and construction processes.
Architectural Engineer Experience:
- Degree qualified in Architecture or Architectural Engineering or related. Minimum BSc
- You will have demonstrable experience of delivering projects from concept through completion in a multi-disciplinary and/or multi-office project execution environment for a recognised consultancy in the GCC
- You will be an experienced user of Architectural design software
- At least 12 years of prior experience in the FEED, EPC as well as front end part of the engineering development for onshore and offshore projects.
- You will have a solid background knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software, with ability to carry out coordination through Revit.
- A can do, hands on approach, able to work well under pressure and prioritize workload to meet project needs
- Willing and quick to adapt to project/team needs and learn from experience
