ARE / Asst Project Manager - PMC - 3 Month Contract

Our Global Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Assistant Resident Engineer / Asst PM to join their team in Al Ain to work on new build projects in the Emirate. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a consultant ARE / APM on civil construction and fit out projects in the UAE or the wider GCC region and will have worked for a recognised engineering consultancy or PMC company previously.


This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3 month contract position employed as outsourced staff through J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • The Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) will support the Resident Engineer in overseeing the construction and handover of base build and interior projects including associated architectural, civil, structural, MEP interface works.
  • The role ensures that all works are executed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, contract requirements, quality standards, safety regulations, and client expectations.
  • Construction Supervision Assist the Resident Engineer in managing the supervision of the construction works.
  • Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
  • Supervise civil, structural, architectural, and MEP works during all phases of construction.
  • Review construction methodologies and ensure adherence to approved work procedures.
  • Coordinate site inspections and verify that works are completed according to contractual requirements.
  • Quality Assurance & Control Ensure implementation of project Quality Management Systems and inspection procedures.
  • Review and witness inspections, testing activities, and material approvals.
  • Monitor NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), corrective actions, and close-out processes.
  • Verify compliance with applicable international standards, local regulations, and client requirements.
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Promote a strong safety culture across the project site.
  • Ensure compliance with project HSE plans, permit-to-work systems, and UAE regulations.
  • Participate in site safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Monitor contractor implementation of environmental and sustainability requirements.
  • Interface & Coordination Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, architecture, MEP specialists.
  • Liaise with contractors, stakeholders, utility authorities, and client representatives to resolve site issues effectively.
  • Participate in technical and progress meetings.
  • Contract Administration Assist in reviewing contractor submissions including shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, material submittmits, and work inspection requests.
  • Support verification of completed works for progress measurements and payment applications.
  • Monitor variations, claims, and contractual compliance issues and provide recommendations to the Resident Engineer.
  • Participate in snagging, de-snagging, and final acceptance inspections.
  • Reporting Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
  • Maintain records of inspections, technical issues, site instructions, and construction activities


Assistant RE / Asst PM Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering field (i.e. Civil or Architectural Engineering)
  • PMP, plus membership of a recognized professional institution preferred
  • 8-10+ years of relevant experience as a Civil Engineer on construction build and fit out projects
  • At least 2 years in a recognised design, engineering or project management consultancy company
  • Relevant delivery of base build civil construction and interior fit out projects
