Assistant Design Manager (Saudi National) - PMC

Our Global Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Assistant Design Manager to join their team in Tabuk, KSA to work on a Giga-project in the Kingdom. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Senior Architect / Assistant Design Manager on major Developments across the wider GCC and a proven background working in a recognised PMC or Design Consultancy business is preferred. In line with the clients requirements, we can consider only Saudi National Candidates for this position.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.

Key Responsibilities:

The Assistant Design Manager will support the Design Managers in overseeing and managing the full spectrum of architecture design for different asset types. Serves as a capable professional in an architectural design team, leading work on specific elements of a project with minimal direction and supervision of a Senior Architect or senior team member.   

• Responsible for the design quality and coordination of design between different design streams 
• Manages compliance with masterplan, vision and engineering integration 
• Manages Safety in Design 
• Liaison with delivery teams, integration of designs  
• Assist the Design Managers in developing architecture design style 
• Managing the design by creative approach and aesthetic design  
• Responsible to deliver various architectural design types: residential, commercial, public, healthcare, educational, etc. 
• Strong ability to prepare, develop and edit drawings and presentations 
• Qualitative architectural design review, comment, and recommendation  
• Draft comprehensive architectural sets from concept until detailed design documents 
• Develop and review architectural asset briefs 
• Prepare SoW, specifications, reports and related data tables. 
• Take initiative to develop design manuals, standard design documents 
• Technical detailing and construction administration experience 
• Research on new technologies and trends 
• Produce deliverables in accordance with NEOM standards and policies. 
• Understanding of scope definition and scope interface and ability to transmit the same to others. 
• Knowledge of international standards, policies, codes and procedures and ability to transmit the same to others. 
• Full knowledge of Statutory Authorities requirements, 
• Knowledge of codes, regulations and submission requirements. 
• Developed knowledge of Sustainable Design principles

Assistant Design Manager Experience:

• B.Arch or B.Sc, in Architecture from a recognized university 
• International Accreditations preferred (RIBA, AIA, or equivalent) 
• Sustainability Certification preferred (LEED, PQP, or equivalent) 
• 10+ years post undergraduate of outstanding architectural design and management experience 
• Design experience in various architectural types: residential, commercial, public, healthcare, educational, etc. 
• Prior experience within design management and design commissions for large infrastructure projects
• Outstanding creative, design skills  
• Out of the box thinking and seeing the big picture 
• Excellent conceptual and design skills, with emphasis on aesthetics  
• Creative thinking and visioning and innovation 
• Fluent in writing and speaking English, spoken and written 
• Proactive, reliable, accountable, consistent, independent, clever, nice, generous  
• Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills, 
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work. 
• Flexibility and attitude towards company objectives. 
• Cordial relationships with clients and stakeholders. 
• Commitment to innovation and design excellence 
• Outstanding presentation skills. 
• The ability to convey a clear project narrative and conceptual ideas to both internal and external stakeholders 
• Excellent ability in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite; Grasshopper, V-Ray, any other illustrative technologies  
• Effective use of electronic processes and procedures to increase quality and efficiency
