Associate Roads & Highways Engineer - Consultancy

Our International Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Associate Roads & Highways Engineer to join their team in Dubai to work on new Infrastructure projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as an Associate / Senior IRoads & Highways Design Engineer working on major Infrastructure projects in the UAE.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent role employed directly by our client


Key Responsibilities:

  • Have a proven record as a Competent Senior Roads & Highways Engineer
  • Able to represent the practice at project level.
  • Demonstrate ability to take responsibility for projects.
  • Ability to manage the design and construction stages of a project.
  • Management/financial awareness.
  • Ability to supervise a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Have an understanding of the client Business plan, mission statement and key challenges.
  • Have an understanding of company financial indicators.
  • Contribute to the development of company procedures by taking an active role in task groups.
  • Attend team meetings and play an active role in the development of procedures within your team.
  • Undertake six monthly performance reviews for their team with the support of the Associates & Directors.
  • Review and comment on company procedures using the feedback system.
  • Applying policies relating to health & safety, quality and training. 
  • Agree design philosophy/design fundamentals.
  • Review and comment on deliverables produced by Engineers & Technicians at key stages through a project.
  • Demonstrates all round technical competence.
  • Have knowledge of concept design, buildability, detailed design, high rise buildings, construction techniques, procurement routes, risk assessment and claim assessment.
  • Have knowledge of analytical concept.
  • Have knowledge of our delivery in CAD standards and 3D working. 
  • In addition to your technical strengths, we are looking for a candidate with strong leadership, communication and mentoring skills that can lead teams on a project basis so that the solutions delivered to clients are innovative, sustainable and appropriate.


Associate Roads & Highways Engineer Experience:

  • BSc Minimum in Civil Engineering
  • 12 - 15 years of experience
  • Proficient in road design software (Civil3D, InRoads)
  • In-depth knowledge of local road design standards and working experience with local authorities technical and legal requirements
  • Must be able to act as a project manager on specific projects in coordination with Architects and other engineering disciplines
  • Minimum 8 years UAE experience at least 3 with a recognised Engineering Consultancy Company
  • Prior experience in managing Roads & Infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with NOC Permitting process
