Attraction & Rides Engineer - Consultancy - 6 Month Contract

Our International Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Attraction & Rides Engineer with experience in leisure and entertainment and / or offshore projects to join their team in Dubai / Dammam (KSA). Successful candidates will have strong Attraction & Rides Engineering experience working on offshore or theme park projects and ideally have worked for a recognised PMC / Consultancy business.


The project is located in KSA, visa, accommodation and transport in the Kingdom with be provided by the client.


This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 6 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

Attraction and Ride Design:

  • Collaborate with ride manufacturers, creative teams, and architects to develop technical specifications and design plans for attractions and rides.
  • Ensure that designs align with the park's theme, safety standards, and industry best practices.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Prioritize safety as the top concern, ensuring that all attractions and rides meet or exceed industry and regulatory safety standards.
  • Conduct safety assessments and risk analyses during the design phase and throughout the attraction lifecycle.

Technical Oversight:

  • Oversee the installation, assembly, and commissioning of attractions and rides, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and safety protocols.
  • Verify that ride components and systems function correctly.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to attractions and rides, ensuring compliance and implementing necessary updates.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement comprehensive quality control processes to maintain the integrity and functionality of attractions and rides.
  • Conduct regular inspections, testing, and maintenance to identify and address issues promptly.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Collaborate with operations teams to optimize ride capacity, throughput, and guest flow.
  • Develop and maintain operating and maintenance procedures for attractions.

Budget Management:

  • Prepare and manage budgets for attraction and ride projects, tracking expenditures, and ensuring cost control.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to source components and services within budget constraints.

Technical Documentation:

  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design plans, maintenance schedules, and safety manuals.
  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant staff.

Vendor and Supplier Management:

  • Evaluate, select, and manage ride component manufacturers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Monitor vendor performance, deliverables, and contractual obligations.

Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules and oversee the timely execution of maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to address technical issues and repairs promptly.

Staff Training:

  • Train ride operators and maintenance personnel on ride operation, safety procedures, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Promote a culture of safety and technical competence among staff.

Sustainability Initiatives:

  • Integrate sustainable practices into attraction and ride operations, such as energy-efficient technologies and waste reduction measures.
  • Identify opportunities for environmental improvements.


Attraction & Rides Engineer Experience:

  • Degree qualified in Engineering or related. Minimum BSc
  • You will have demonstrable experience of delivering projects from concept through completion in a multi-disciplinary and/or multi-office project execution environment for a recognised consultancy in the GCC
  • You will be an experienced user of attraction and rides design software
  • At least 12 years of prior experience in the FEED, EPC as well as front end part of the engineering development for onshore and offshore projects.
  • A can do, hands on approach, able to work well under pressure and prioritize workload to meet project needs
  • Willing and quick to adapt to project/team needs and learn from experience
