Aviation Engineer - Consultancy - 6 Month Contract

Our International Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Aviation Engineer with experience in leisure and entertainment and / or offshore projects to join their team in Dubai / Dammam (KSA). Successful candidates will have strong Aviation Engineering experience working on offshore or theme park projects and ideally have worked for a recognised PMC / Consultancy business.


The project is located in KSA, visa, accommodation and transport in the Kingdom with be provided by the client.


This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 6 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

Heliport and Helipad Design:

  • Collaborate with project teams to design and plan heliports and helipads for offshore facilities.
  • Ensure that designs meet aviation regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices.

Airspace Coordination:

  • Coordinate with aviation authorities and air traffic control to establish and manage designated airspace for offshore operations.
  • Obtain necessary permits and approvals for aviation activities.

Aviation Safety and Compliance:

  • Prioritize aviation safety, ensuring that all aviation activities comply with aviation regulations, safety protocols, and industry standards.
  • Conduct safety assessments and risk analyses for aviation operations.

Helicopter Logistics:

  • Manage helicopter transportation logistics, including scheduling, coordination, and passenger and cargo logistics for offshore personnel and materials.
  • Ensure efficient and cost-effective aviation operations.

Emergency Response Planning:

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans for aviation incidents, including helicopter crashes and evacuations.
  • Plan/Conduct regular drills and exercises to ensure preparedness.

Helicopter Fleet Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance and airworthiness of the offshore helicopter fleet.
  • Coordinate with helicopter operators and maintenance teams to ensure safe and reliable operations.

Environmental Stewardship:

  • Promote environmentally responsible aviation practices and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Implement measures to minimize the environmental impact of aviation activities.

Budget Management:

  • Prepare and manage budgets for aviation-related activities, tracking expenditures and ensuring cost control.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source aviation services within budget constraints.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive records of aviation activities, safety reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Prepare and submit aviation reports to senior management and regulatory authorities as required.


Aviation Engineer Experience:

  • Degree qualified in Aviation related qualification. Minimum BSc
  • You will have demonstrable experience of delivering projects from concept through completion in a multi-disciplinary and/or multi-office project execution environment for a recognised consultancy in the GCC
  • You will be an experienced user of Aviation design software
  • At least 12 years of prior experience in the FEED, EPC as well as front end part of the engineering development for onshore and offshore projects.
  • A can do, hands on approach, able to work well under pressure and prioritize workload to meet project needs
  • Willing and quick to adapt to project/team needs and learn from experience
