BIM Engineer - Consultancy - 6 Month Contract

Our International Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced BIM Engineer with experience in leisure and entertainment and / or offshore projects to join their team in Dubai / Dammam (KSA). Successful candidates will have strong BIM Engineering experience working on offshore or theme park projects and ideally have worked for a recognised PMC / Consultancy business.


The project is located in KSA, visa, accommodation and transport in the Kingdom with be provided by the client.


This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 6 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

BIM Implementation:

  • Develop and implement BIM standards, protocols, and workflows for offshore real estate development projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish BIM execution plans and project-specific requirements.

Model Creation and Management:

  • Create and maintain accurate 3D models of offshore facilities, including architectural, structural, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and other relevant systems.
  • Ensure model consistency, data accuracy, and compliance with project standards.
  • Proficiency in BIM software programs such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks

Interdisciplinary Coordination:

  • Facilitate collaboration among architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders by using BIM as a central platform for communication and coordination.
  • Resolve design conflicts and clashes through clash detection and resolution processes.

Quantity Takeoff and Estimation:

  • Utilize BIM models for quantity takeoff and cost estimation purposes.
  • Generate reports and data for cost analysis, budgeting, and procurement.

Construction Sequencing and Scheduling:

  • Develop 4D (3D + time) BIM models to visualize construction sequencing and schedules.
  • Optimize project timelines and identify potential delays or conflicts.

Facility Management Integration:

  • Extend BIM data beyond construction into the facility management phase.
  • Integrate asset data, maintenance schedules, and equipment information into BIM for facility operation and maintenance.

Data Management and Standards:

  • Establish and maintain BIM data standards, naming conventions, and best practices.
  • Ensure data consistency and accuracy across project phases.

Training and Support:

  • Provide training and technical support to project team members to facilitate BIM adoption and proficiency.
  • Stay updated on BIM software and industry trends.

Quality Control:

  • Perform regular quality checks and audits on BIM models and data to identify and resolve issues.
  • Ensure that project deliverables meet established standards and requirements.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of BIM processes, workflows, and project-specific procedures.
  • Generate reports and presentations to communicate BIM-related information to stakeholders.


BIM Engineer Experience:

  • Degree qualified in Architecture or Engineering. Minimum BSc
  • You will have demonstrable experience of delivering projects from concept through completion in a multi-disciplinary and/or multi-office project execution environment for a recognised consultancy in the GCC
  • You will be an experienced user of BIM design software
  • At least 12 years of prior experience in the FEED, EPC as well as front end part of the engineering development for onshore and offshore projects.
  • A can do, hands on approach, able to work well under pressure and prioritize workload to meet project needs
  • Willing and quick to adapt to project/team needs and learn from experience
