Business Consultant - Energy & Water

Our International Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Business Consultant / Manager specialising in Water and Energy projects to join their team in Abu Dhabi. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Business Consultant / Manager on large scale Water and Energy projects in the GCC.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.

Key Responsibilities:

• Our client is currently building up their Management Consulting team in the Middle East and more specifically in UAE, focusing on transactions and PPP advisory mandates in the Energy and Water sector, and are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Consultant/ Manager to be part of their interdisciplinary team.
• The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a track record in transactions who is interested in playing a crucial role in advising clients in energy and water sectors. • In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to provide your contribution to the energy transition by supporting private and public organizations in supporting their investment decisions.
• Manage mandates and lead teams in the execution of large-scale due diligence/PPP projects/transactions in energy and water sectors, consisting of technical, commercial as well as environmental experts
• Execute and supervise complex quantitative and qualitative analyses and leading various teams of other consultants, analysts and subject matter experts
• Building/Extending long-term, trust-based relationships with external stakeholders and within the company
• Contributing to development of our offerings and tools; in particular helping to further develop the management consulting service offering
• Supporting the growth of the PPP and management consulting team and supervision of analyst/consultants
• Other tasks related to your role as member of the local office team

Business Consultant / Manager - Energy & Water Experience:

• MSc or equivalent, MBA, PhD in a technical, financial or economic field. Further qualifications like CFA advantageous
• 3-5 years/ 5-7 years of working experience in M&A, management consultancy investment funds, investment advisory, with an established reputation and network in energy and water sectors, preferably in the Middle East
• Demonstrable track-record in managing complex due diligence projects and strong willingness to drive the growth of our team in a role relating to energy or water transactions (hydrogen, renewable energies, thermal power, desalination)
• Clear interest in using your relationships, knowledge and understanding of energy and water transaction dynamics in the region to support the growth of our clients PPP / transaction services in close coordination with the sales and business development teams in UAE
• Strong analytical skills, high motivation, commitment and ability to act independently
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, produce high-quality results within deadlines and budget.
• Demonstrated team player with a strong motivation to contribute to a positive team culture
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional fluency in English (orally and written) is a must. Arabic and other language skills are considered advantageous
• Flexibility to travel within Middle East
