Commercial Manager (Hospitality Projects) - Consultancy

Our Multi National Project & Cost Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Commercial Manager to join their team in Abu Dhabi to lead the Commercial team working on Hospitality new build, fit out & refurbishment projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Commercial Manager with a recognised PM or Cost consultancy company background. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential as is full project life cycle experience in pre and post contract works, MRICS would be highly advantageous.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed with our client.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing the commercial functions related to the full project life cycle
  • Monitoring and reporting on the project account to the Senior Leadership and PMO teams.
  • Understanding and managing the client’s change control process, providing input and support to teams where relevant.
  • Providing the client assistance in the procurement and close out of minor works packages.
  • Supporting all stakeholders on commercial matters and managing the respective consultants in providing inputs where required.
  • Complying with client processes and procedures and delivering services in line with core values.
  • Managing and being accountable for the commercial reports.
  • Providing timely feedback at all times to the senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Being fully aware of the project reporting requirements, change control and payment procedures.
  • Coordinating with project stakeholders in the successful conclusion of the project accounts.
  • Monitoring weekly and monthly cost movements and reporting any anomalies/significant movements to the senior leadership team
  • Ensuring variations on all project accounts are being progressively closed out, engage in regular follow ups/check in’s with project teams.
  • Leading and participating in commercial meetings where required.
  • Providing responses to audit queries and input into third party reviews where required.
  • Communicating with all project parties or stakeholders and ensuring suitable records are maintained.
  • Working collaboratively and always in an inclusive manner


Commercial Manager Experience:

  • BSC in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institution preferred
  • MRICS is highly advantageous
  • Experience in Hospitality new build, fit out and refurbishment projects is a must;
  • Minimum of 10 years’ post graduation experience;
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ UAE, experience in a recognised cost consultant or PMC Company
  • Knowledge in the use of QS software or similar is required;
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
  • Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement & management skills
