Managing QS / Commercial Manager - Main Contractor - 6 Month Contract

Our Tier 1 Main Contracting Client has a new requirement for a well experienced Managing QS / Commercial Manager to join their team in Dubai to work on a new development of VVIP Villas. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Managing QS / Commercial Manager with good knowledge in large scale civil construction projects in the UAE and must have worked for a Tier 1 Main Contracting Company previously.


This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 6 month contract position as an outsource employed by J10 Consulting.

There is an option to transfer to staff after 6 months should it suit all parties.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all commercial aspects of the project and ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximize project profitability.
  • Review and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Manage claims and variations to contracts to minimize risks and disputes.
  • Provide commercial advice and support to project teams and senior management.
  • Conduct regular cost analysis and reporting to identify areas for cost‑saving and improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all commercial, contractual, and legal requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.


Managing QS / Commercial Manager Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
  • Proven experience of at least 10 years with 2-3 as a Managing QS or Commercial Manager in the Civil Contracting industry.
  • Background of working in recognised and Tier 1 Main Contractor companies.
  • In‑depth knowledge of commercial management principles and practices.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools and systems.
