Contracts Manager - PPP Schools & Healthcare Programme

Our multi-national Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Contracts Manager to join their team in Doha, Qatar. Successful candidates will have extensive Contracts Management experience on large scale PPP projects including Education & Healthcare facilities.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent employment opportunity.


Responsibilities:

  • This position shall be responsible for ensuring full compliance of the contracts in the best interest of the PWA during all stages of the Projects; Draft or review any contractual letters as required.
  • Assist with the development of the contract strategy, policies, procedures and best practices for both for the Programme and various Project(s); Acts as first point of escalation for contractual disputes;
  • Administers bonds, insurances, guarantees and the like;
  • Ensures and reviews recommendations when requests for variation, addendum, extension of time, claims etc. are being processed, ensuring that they are in accordance with the Authority’s relevant policies and procedures;
  • Validates the data sources used to calculate contractual KPIs;
  • Provides support to the Commercial Manager, amongst others, where required, on contractual and commercial matters


Contracts Manager Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years post graduate experience with experience in major infrastructure projects or buildings programmes;
  • Experienced user of MS Office and project management software;
  • Experience in International contracting mechanisms e.g. FIDIC and Governmental forms;
  • Drafts letters relating to contractual matters for review by the Commercial Manager;
  • Desirable to have experience of working with government agencies and clients on PPP projects;
  • Demonstrable track record in the delivery of large multidisciplinary projects;
  • In-depth knowledge of various project procedures;
  • Effective in building good working relationships within complex structures, both internally and with various project stakeholders.
  • University degree from a recognised University in an appropriate field such as Contract Management or Law or equivalent;
  • Experience of working on PPP projects or large output driven design and build projects;
  • Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken.
  • Experience of working in Qatar or the Gulf region.
