Cost Estimator / Quantity Surveyor - FM / Airports - 6 Month Contract

Our Regional Engineering Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced, Cost Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Successful candidates will have a proven background as an Cost Estimator / Quantity Surveyor for an FM Service Provider or Consultancy company on large scale FM projects and contracts, ideally experience in Airport or similar projects in the UAE / GCC.


This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 6 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • To Identify and provide asset value pricing / costs for the clients projects.
  • Establish and implement best practices and focuses on continuous improvement
  • Estimation, Procurement and BOQ preparation
  • Study analysis and evaluate tender design documents from a technical point of view in order to identify risk factors ensuring that technical terms comply with the relevant standards for the overall risk assessment and bid decision
  • Solicit and follow-up with the design Procurement drafting section during tender preparation for method optimizing in order to reach cost efficiency
  • Preparation of BOQ and Cost Estimation in terms of the required material equipment and manpower requirements during the tendering phase Review and finalizes project cost estimates
  • Liaise with the Procurement team QS to negotiate with approved vendors suppliers and subcontractors for various supplies material as per project pre post tender
  • Finalize estimation of all direct and indirect costs and consolidates tender documents for management review and approval
  • Estimating and cost planning activities to include presenting the Estimated Improvement Cost


Cost Estimator / Quantity Surveyor Experience:

  • Engineering degree or diploma or other related technical diploma.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in Facilities commercial activities.
  • Preferably with experience working on Airports or similar projects in .the UAE
  • Proven ability to access necessary market information to obtain costs / prices.
  • Understanding of BOQ methodologies and build ups in a major project environment for building of complex buildings & facilities.
  • Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management.
