Design Director - Landscape - Consultancy

Our Boutique Design Consultancy client has a new requirement for a seasoned Landscape Design Director to join their team in Dubai, UAE Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Design Director for a recognised Consultancy or PMC company on large scale commercial, residential, hospitality and mixed use projects and contracts, ideally experienced in similar projects in the UAE or the wider GCC.

This role is available for immediate joining and is for a direct hire, permanent opportunity, employed directly by our client.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist design teams in generating the conceptual vision and direction for all landscape projects;
• Undertake design reviews on all projects at critical stages of the design process;
• Deliver landscape design projects within budgets, targets and timescales agreed with Managing Partner;
• Oversee and assist with (when required) preparation of base plans, masterplans, sketch designs, detailed design and production drawings (planting and construction details) using AutoCAD/Revit, Photoshop and freehand as appropriate;
• Liaise directly with clients (Architects and end user clients i.e Developers) and ensure quality service is provided on all projects;
• Attend landscape design client presentations for key design stages;
• Assist with and ensure that all QA/QC policies are adhered to by all design staff and also Undertake full QA/QC reviews on projects;
• Preparation of presentational material including exhibition boards, design statements, rendered masterplans, image boards and other illustrative materials for projects;
• Oversee and assist with preparation of design reports to support landscape submissions;
• Lead, motivate and develop more junior members of the Landscape Design team, allocate resources and encourage effective collaboration across all levels of the team;
• Assist Managing Partner in commercial activities including but not limited to RFP’s, business development and financial monitoring of projects;
• Assist Managing Partner in developing and implementing marketing strategies to safeguard the continued growth of studio in line with the company strategy; 

Design Director - Landscape Experience:

• BA Hons Landscape Architecture from recognised Institution;
• MA/PG Dip Landscape Architecture from recognised Institution;
• Minimum fifteen years professional experience;
• Middle East experience essential;
• Proven track record of delivering world class hospitality projects for top tier Architects/Developers;
• Commercial experience i.e RFP’s, Business Development etc preferable;
• Exceptional graphical and presentation skills;
