Design Manager - Infrastructure, Utilities & Landscape

Our global Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Design Manager to join their team in Riyadh, KSA at a high profile project. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Design Manager on large scale civil construction projects in KSA and the wider GCC.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage technical reviews and compliance of design and engineering with controls to maintain and improve high quality deliverables to clients.
• Plan projects and improve project team understanding of milestones, budget, and deliverables.
• Provide direct input to proposals, strategic plans, client presentations and contract negotiations. 
• Makes presentations to management and clients on project updates and deliverables.
• Assist all design project managers to meet project budgets and assist in project budget control.
• Responsible for developing and implementing operating plans.
• Responsible for the quality and timeliness of cost estimates, budgets, financial reports and schedules
• Responsible for the approval of Project Schedules in cooperation with the client and consultants.

Design Manager Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering and/or architecture from an accredited University
• Chartered or Professional from an accredited institution is required with additional Membership of an accredited, recognized Project Management Institution is highly desirable.
• Minimum 15 years demonstrable experience, of which 10 years as a Manager/Technical lead in large infrastructure, utilities and landscape projects involving design and construction works.
• Ability to interpret complex contract documents including plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Ability to make decisions and recommendations on significant engineering problems, and review drawings, specifications, and installations for constructability.
• Ability to coordinate, corporate and communicate with internal and external Statutory Bodies, department, government agencies, stakeholders in respect of acquiring necessary consents and approval on design and construction.
• Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to use design software is compulsory.
