Director of Material Procurement - Developer

Our Multi National Real Estate Developer client has a new requirement for a well experienced Director of Material Procurement to join their team in Dubai to work on multiple new high profile projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a head or director of material procurement for large scale civil construction projects in the UAE and the wider GCC.
This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.
Key Responsibilities:
- To define and transform the Material Procurement function into a centralised operation that enables effectiveness for all business units across all projects
- To lead a multi million $ spend across material sourcing and procurement and drive the groups material procurement leaders with guidance and training
- To provide a best-in-class material procurement function through excellence in procurement & sourcing
- A leader who will implement material procurement SLA’s and policies and processes of international standards
- Support the procurement team’s in executing excellence when it comes to major high profile contracts.
- To define the strategy of just in time of raw materials, packaging materials, indirect materials, services, and CAPEX for the group
- To transform the business model and transform a centralised more efficient collaborating model that is cost effective an delivers quality for the group.
- Define the material procurement vision and the roadmap for the transformation, tool, and team to deliver maximum output and efficiency.
- Design the material procurement strategies and execute the supply shortage price trends of important commodities.
- Define, and design the function for material procurement that drives best-in-class material procurement processes across the groups divisions and that align with the groups vision.
- Play a commercial role improving the business bottom line performance whilst maximising quality.
- Collaborate directly with business units and drive centralised direct and indirect sourcing and material procurement processes.
- Manage and drive key material procurement supplier costs.
- Design the material procurement strategic Matrix along with the Finance.
- Be a key decision maker regarding services, materials and spends managing both suppliers and vendors with efficient volume buying
- Define and design a structured tendering process that enables control and measurables.
- Assess the current material procurement teams and qualities and abilities.
- Analyse the tools and data to measure sourcing activities
- Keep up to date with market and industry intelligence to measure market rates for specific products/ services, develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and service providers across the globe.
- Work and collaborate with suppliers, vendors raw materials and services that meet the business requirements.
- Focus on the current technology and how to enhance the material procurement management platforms in the organisation and ensure that all systems and tools are working as per expectations.
Director of Material Procurement Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or similar relevant subject
- Minimum 15 years post graduate experience
- Profiles with Interiors or Architectural Design Consultancy background will be preferred for this role
- Working knowledge of software packages typically associated with material procurement
- Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
