Duty Engineer - FM Consultancy - 3 Month Contract

Our International Facilities Management consultancy client has a new requirement for 2no well experienced Duty Engineers to join their team in Dubai, UAE at a large scale commercial project. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Duty Engineer in high profile FM operations on large scale commercial and hospitality projects in the UAE.


This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 3-month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Duty Engineer plays a key role in making sure FOH and BOH areas are well snagged and assists the Head of Engineering (Facilities) in taking over areas from projects and resolves all issues on time.
  • Duty Engineer is a decision maker and takes steps in the interest of the client with proper communication.
  • Sets and maintains service standards
  • Prepares SOPs with the Head of Engineering (Facilities)
  • Follows on critical path along with Head of Engineering (Facilities)
  • Assists in and implements the snagging process
  • Assists in taking over systems and areas
  • Knowledge in fire, life & safety
  • Knowledge in DM and CD standards
  • Knowledge in setting up of CMMS
  • Coaches, counsels and disciplines employees
  • Determines priorities, sets goals and follows up.
  • Prepare schedule for preventative maintenance.
  • Responsible for maintenance of Mechanical & Electrical areas and makes sure that preventative maintenance is done on time as per the schedule.
  • Monitors working condition of all MEP plant of the property
  • To make sure that all work orders and complaints are attended to and completed on time.
  • Monitors daily utility consumption and take steps to control it
  • Takes a lead role in Energy conservation program for the project and follows clients environmental policy.


Duty Engineer Experience:

  • Minimum of Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience, of which a minimum of 4 years should be in the hospitality industry
  • Hands-on experience in all operational areas of departmental administration
  • Ability to manage professional relationship with colleagues from multinational origin
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and commitment to professional values
  • Should possess an excellent command of English (written and oral)
