Electrical Design Engineer - Consultancy - 3-6 Month Contract

Our Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Dubai to work on prestigious new Buildings projects. Successful candidates will have a proven Consultancy background as a Electrical Design Engineer on large scale buildings and infrastructure projects in the UAE.


This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 3-6 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the project from concept design to completion. Should have experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) as well as strong engineering skills.
  • Electrical Design of the assigned projects which shall consist of services like Power, Security systems, Alarm systems, Lighting and HV / LV systems.
  • Implement Building information (BIM) procedures and hands on experience in Revit MEP.
  • Coordination with in-house disciplines.
  • Should have experience in Value Engineering, alternate products & solutions.
  • Knowledge of updated authority regulations & relevant standards & codes.
  • Liaison with authorities, lead necessary submissions and obtain approvals from relevant authorities in Dubai, Sharjah & Abu Dhabi.
  • Proper review of project(s) information, related scope and deliverables to achieve client’s brief.
  • Ensure project(s) planning, quality of production, status tracking & completion of deliverables.
  • Conduct meetings with the client, prepare and present design solutions at various stages of the project.
  • Knowledge of specification writing, up to date knowledge of materials and their applications.
  • Determine the resources (time, staff, equipment, etc.) required and its allocation to complete the project.
  • Discuss and solving complexities with client rep., sub-consultants, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
  • Teaming up with other team members like site engineers and inspectors to accomplish targets.
  • Carry out site visits as required and attend meetings with client and suppliers.
  • Review and approve shop drawings and other submittals, as and when required.
  • Project lead should be informed of relevant design decisions and its goals, and its alignment with client requirements.
  • Use of technology to redefine design process in working methods.


Electrical Design Engineer Experience:

  • Masters/Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Electrical).
  • Preference will be given for candidates who are having professional association membership from ASHRAE, ASME, BSRIA, CIBSE, SOE etc.
  • Engineering consultancy experience with a recognised Consultancy or PMC Business focused within UAE is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 + years of experience is mandatory.
  • Strong design experience using, but not limited to Autodesk CAD, Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project
