Electrical Design Engineer - Consultancy - 3 Month Contract

Our Multi National Engineering Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Dubai to work on residential, commercial, retail and entertainment projects. Successful candidates will have strong BIM proficiency aligned with a proven background as an Electrical Design Engineer for relevant projects in the GCC. Candidates should have good experience in ELV, Electrical and Dry Utilities and have worked in recognised PMC or Engineering Consultancy companies previously.


This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3 month contract position employed as an outsource through J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Use Autodesk Revit tools to present design and engineering solutions.
  • Research, plan, design and develop building engineering systems for Electrical engineering in consultation and coordination with MEP Director.
  • Work under supervision of the MEP Director to perform engineering evaluations, feasibility studies, conceptual and final design, cost estimates, and engineering calculations.
  • Assist MEP Director in administering contacts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
  • Prepare and document calculations complete with support references to codes and standards, scan and locate in the project folder under the correct project number for future access by any member of staff located in any of the client offices.
  • Prepare data and QAQC document sheets for the QAQC reviewers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the MEP Director.
  • Manage activities under supervision within own field of responsibility.
  • Apply technical aptitude to tasks to solve day to day problems, always willing to learn new skills.
  • Use initiative to ensure work processes, procedures and systems are effective and efficient.
  • Contribute to the effective functioning of the team by identifying with and participating in the attainment of team objectives, communicating and sharing knowledge.
  • Build understanding of design, construction and project management concepts.
  • Document all designs in accordance with requirements of design practice manuals.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels to support collaborative work practices and achievement of team goals.
  • Manage own continuous development and support the development of colleagues.
  • Maintain Client focus in the delivery of services of the team.


Electrical Design Engineer Experience:

  • Bachelor or Masters in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 6 years post undergraduate experience
  • Proven related professional experience in a recognised consultancy company or PMC
  • Broad understanding of; and capability to deliver; ELV, Electrical and Dry Utilities
  • Experience of working on residential, commercial, retail and entertainment projects
  • Strong BIM / REVIT skills in addition to the usual Electrical design programmes.
