Electrical, Instrumentation & Communications Engineer - Consultancy - 6 Month Contract

Our International Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Electrical, Instrumentation and Communications Engineer with experience in leisure and entertainment and / or offshore projects to join their team in Dubai / Dammam (KSA). Successful candidates will have strong Electrical Engineering experience working on offshore or theme park projects and ideally have worked for a recognised PMC / Consultancy business.


The project is located in KSA, visa, accommodation and transport in the Kingdom with be provided by the client.


This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 6 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

Electrical, Instrumentation, and Communication Systems Design:

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to design electrical power distribution systems, instrumentation and control systems, lighting, and communication networks for offshore facilities.
  • Ensure that designs meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Equipment Specification:

  • Specify and select Electrical, Instrumentation, and Communication equipment, including transformers, generators, cables, control panels, sensors, and communication devices, based on project requirements and performance criteria.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and efficiency.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Prioritize safety, ensuring that all Electrical, Instrumentation, and Communication systems and equipment comply with industry standards, electrical codes, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans for Electrical, Instrumentation, and Communication installations.

Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:

  • Promote energy-efficient designs and sustainability practices within Electrical, Instrumentation, and Communication systems, including the integration of renewable energy sources, energy conservation measures, and green technologies.
  • Optimize system designs for environmental efficiency.

Technical Oversight:

  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Communication systems, ensuring that they meet design specifications and performance expectations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during construction and operation

Maintenance and Reliability:

  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules for Electrical, Instrumentation, and Communication systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and calibration of instrumentation devices, to ensure operational reliability.

Budget Management:

  • Prepare and manage budgets for Electrical, Instrumentation, and Communication engineering projects, tracking expenditures and ensuring cost control.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to source equipment and services within budget constraints.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including electrical and instrumentation system drawings, schematics, specifications, and maintenance records.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for project stakeholders and regulatory agencies.

Vendor and Supplier Management:

  • Evaluate, select, and manage Electrical, Instrumentation, and Communication equipment suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
  • Monitor vendor performance, adherence to specifications, and contractual obligations.

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Implement quality control processes to verify that electrical and instrumentation systems and equipment meet design specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections and quality assessments as needed.


Electrical, Instrumental & Communications Engineer Experience:

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering. Minimum BSc
  • You will have demonstrable experience of delivering projects from concept through completion in a multi-disciplinary and/or multi-office project execution environment for a recognised consultancy in the GCC
  • You will be an experienced user of Electrical design software
  • At least 12 years of prior experience in the FEED, EPC as well as front end part of the engineering development for onshore and offshore projects.
  • A can do, hands on approach, able to work well under pressure and prioritize workload to meet project needs
  • Willing and quick to adapt to project/team needs and learn from experience
