Engineering / Technical Lead - PMC - 3-6 Month Contract

Our International Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Supervision Engineering / Technical Lead with experience in leisure and entertainment projects to join their team in Dubai. Successful candidates will have strong project leadership and FIDIC Contract administration experience working with a a recognised PMC / Consultancy business.


The project is located in KSA, visa, accommodation and transport in the Kingdom with be provided by the client.


This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 3-6 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Fully accountable for all Engineering tasks on the Project
  • Coordination/ Management of the Engineering activities on Large scale capital projects (Entertainment projects is beneficial).
  • Coordination/ Management with all Lead engineers and designers working on the project to ensure timely Engineering delivery under schedule and quality constraints
  • Coordination/ Management of various design reviews, tracking and expediting action close out
  • Support PM in Evaluating changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project
  • Monitors progress and performance against the project schedule and raises timely flags
  • Leads inter-disciplinary information flows, interfaces and conflicts
  • Ensure the buildability of the proposed design and suitability of materials.
  • Capable of foreseeing, analyzing and escalating issues arising from operations and resource constraints
  • Leads detailed design activities during development and execution phase of the project: simulations, design calculations, process optimization, sizing & selection of equipment etc.
  • Approves the key technical project document, as well vendor’s documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations.
  • Is familiar with engineering software’s and methods (process, design) to ease mentoring
  • Prepares technical scope of works for sub-contractors & consultants.
  • Evaluates technical offers from subcontractors and vendors.

Engineering / Technical Lead - Experience:

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or Project Management. Minimum BSc
  • Fully conversant with the FIDIC suite of contracts and or other ad-hoc forms.
  • Professional qualification/ chartership is a plus, such as PMP, CIOB, RICS, PRINCE2 certification.
  • Exception stakeholder management and authority liaison skills.
  • At least 15 years of prior experience in the FEED, EPC as well as front end part of the engineering development for onshore and offshore projects
  • Experience in Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC), Offshore Projects or Entertainment.
  • Strong track record in the management of detailed engineering activities.
  • Good commercial awareness with ability to evaluate change
