General Manager - Interior Fit Out & Exhibitions

Our Interior Fit Out and Exhibitions Contracting client has a new requirement for a General Manager to join their management team in Dubai. Successful candidates will have a proven track record leading interior fit out and exhibition delivery teams in the region.
This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed by our client.
Key Responsibilities:
- To optimize growth in business & profitability through effective leadership, planning, organization and control of functional activities, within agreed strategies and guidelines.
- Overseeing and managing the day to day operations of the business.
- Developing the business in its newest verticals of Interior Fit Out and Furniture Production whilst maintaining standards and growing the existing Exhibitions, Activations and Event production lines.
- Developing the annual budgets and forecast in conjunction with the MD and ensure budgets and targets are adhered to accordingly.
- To monitor business performance against budget and to undertake corrective action where necessary.
- Maintain full P & L responsibility for the company and achieve or surpass financial targets.
- Monitor departmental performance against KPIs.
- Represent the company in establishing and continuously growing relationships with business partners, customers, clients and vendors.
- Attract, develop, motivate and retain talent, deploy them in an effective manner and ensure effective succession planning is in place.
- Oversee progress of tenders / projects and all related issues.
- Promoting health, safety and environmental awareness at all levels.
- Develop strategic plan by studying, recognizing and exploiting market opportunities; recommending objectives
- Accomplish objectives by establishing a company wide system, plans, budgets, performance and results management, efficient allocation of company resources, progress review and interim corrections
- Establish company policies such as: procurement, production, marketing, field and technical services;
- Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding, procedures for accomplishing project in due time, staffing requirements.
- Confers with project staff to outline work plan and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
General Manager Experience:
- Minimum of 12 - 15 years’ experience in the field of Interior Fit Out & Exhibition Industry
- Minimum 7 Years of Work Experience within Middle East region or Middle East projects.
- Must have proven managerial level experience, and technical competencies to understand the full remit of the business operations.
- Strong technical competency in Design / Engineering would be an advantage
- Strong analytical, administrative and planning skills
- Proven business acumen, and business development skills
- Overseeing client relationships and proven stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Good understanding of local markets, pricing and competition
- Multi tasker, flexible and adaptive
- Ethical, high standards on personal expectations
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Must have analytical, problem solving, team work, delegation, leadership, quality management, cost consciousness, judgment and planning competencies.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process
- Must have extensive knowledge of the local market and its players in order to successfully award new contracts for company.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
