HSE Engineer (Villas) - Design Consultancy - 12 Month Contract

Our Leading Architectural Design Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Consultant HSE Engineer to join their team in Dubai, to work on a major new Villa masterplan development. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Consultant HSE Engineer and MUST have worked for a recognised design or engineering consultancy. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked on villa masterplan developments previously

This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 12 month contract position employed as outsourced staff through J10 Consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement the health, safety and environmental arrangements for the project against the QHSE Management System requirements, to ensure the protection of all staff.
• Lead HSE Inspectors to ensure they are monitoring the implementation of health and safety arrangements at project site level, in accordance with legal and client requirements.
• Develop and deliver health, safety and environmental training to employees including but not limited to; induction, safe working practices.
• Review and approve contractor’s health, safety and environmental plans, risk assessments and method statements against legal and client requirements prior to the work being carried out.
• Plan daily morning site visits across project sites to ensure health and safety measures are in place before works begins.
• Carry out weekly joint HSE inspections with HSE Inspectors and contractor personnel and ensure all the corrective/preventive actions are closed out.
• Organise HSE meetings with clients, project staff, and contractors.
• Initiate and test emergency response plans and ensure the drills are carried out as per the project schedule and performance standards.
• Ensure HSE Inspectors follow up on contractor’s incident investigation reports are completed and corrective actions are identified and closed out to prevent a recurrence and provide necessary technical guidance for accident protection.
• Conduct regular site safely reviews.
• Liaise with enforcement authorities (PCFC, EHS Checks) prepare and submit monthly HSE reports in conjunction with contractor personnel and to the client.

Consultant HSE Engineer Experience:

• Proven track record of working as a consultant HSE engineer or inspector on build and civil projects in the UAE
• Previous Design or Engineering consultancy experience is essential
• Previous villa / masterplan development projects would be beneficial
• 5+ years of relevant experience as a QHSE engineer
• Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or related
• Minimum of NEBOSH IGC certification
• IOSH, IIRSM or CSP accreditation is preferred
