HSE Officer - DEWA Approved - 2 year contract

Our multi national EPC contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced HSE Officer with previous DEWA approval to join their team in Dubai. Successful candidates will have strong QHSE experience on DEWA projects including substations up to 132kv.


This role is available for immediate joining and is for a 2 year fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the health, safety and environmental arrangements for the project against the QHSE Management System requirements, to ensure the protection of all staff.
  • Develop and deliver health, safety and environmental training to employees including but not limited to; induction, tool box talks, safe working practices.
  • Review and approve sub-contractor’s health, safety and environmental plans, risk assessments and method statements against legal and client requirements prior to the work being carried out.
  • Plan daily morning site visits across project sites to ensure health and safety measures are in place before works begins.
  • Carry out weekly joint HSE inspections with HSE Inspectors and contractor personnel and ensure all the corrective/preventive actions are closed out.
  • Organise HSE meetings with clients, project staff, and contractors.
  • Initiate and test emergency response plans and ensure the drills are carried out as per the project schedule and performance standards.
  • Ensure HSE Inspectors follow up on contractor’s incident investigation reports are completed and corrective actions are identified and closed out to prevent a recurrence and provide necessary technical guidance for accident protection.
  • Conduct regular site safely reviews.
  • To ensure that all the works done are in accordance with the approvals


HSE Officer - DEWA Approved Requirements:

The desired candidate must: 

  • have a Bachelors Degree or 3 year diploma in Civil Engineering or similar. 
  • have a minimum of 4 years’ industry experience in civil construction with at least 1 high profile DEWA substation project experience. 
  • have excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • hold a minimum of NEBOSH IGC certificate.
  • hold a previous or current DEWA approval including TED Code as an approved HSE Engineer or Officer.
