HVAC Design Engineer - Consultancy - 3 Month Contract

Our International Engineering consultancy client has a new requirements for well experienced consultant HVAC Design Engineer to join their team in Dubai to work on high rise residential and commercial projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as an HVAC Design Engineer for large scale projects in the GCC and have worked in a recognised design or engineering Consultancy


This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting


Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in engineering projects in developing HVAC calculations, drawings, data sheets, project related specifications and other design documentation as required.
  • Participate in project validation and qualification work, including the preparation and execution of validation and verification protocols for a wide range of regulators
  • Maintain and apply a working knowledge of relevant engineering legislation, building codes and standards as they apply to projects Acting as originator (or checker) and approver (where necessary) for all HVAC engineering deliverables (philosophies, specifications, datasheets, calculations, studies, reports, VDRFs etc), whilst following all operational procedures
  • Acting as discipline checker and approver (where necessary) for all HVAC 'Design' deliverables (D&IDs, DFDs, GAs etc), whilst following all operational procedures
  • Coordinating with all disciplines (as necessary) in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensuring that other departments' input is incorporated
  • Work with other engineers, designers and supervisors as required to support engineering project delivery
  • Reviews associated system drawings, Basis of Design (BOD), Project Execution Plan (PEP) and all relevant client provided data
  • Performs sizing of HVAC equipment to the degree necessary for the stage of project in order to meet project requirements
  • Ensures equipment compliance with package electrical, structural & instrument specifications, as well as applicable code requirements and national / international standards
  • Prepares enquiry requisitions as required
  • Performs Criticality Ratings for equipment packages
  • Evaluates bids & prepares technical bid evaluations & provides input to joint purchase recommendations


HVAC Design Engineer Experience:

  • Bachelor or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5-10 years experience
  • Proven related professional experience in a recognised consultancy company or Tier 1 PMC
  • Experience of working on large scale projects
  • Strong REVIT skills in addition to the usual Mechanical and HVAC design programmes.
