Infrastructure Engineer - Consultancy - 6 Month Contract

Our International Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Infrastructure Engineer with experience in leisure and entertainment and / or offshore projects to join their team in Dubai / Dammam (KSA). Successful candidates will have strong Infrastructure Engineering experience working on offshore or theme park projects and ideally have worked for a recognised PMC / Consultancy business.


The project is located in KSA, visa, accommodation and transport in the Kingdom with be provided by the client.


This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 6 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Planning:

  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and stakeholders to develop comprehensive infrastructure plans for offshore real estate developments.
  • Identify and prioritize infrastructure needs, including utilities, transportation, waste management, and energy systems.

Design and Engineering:

  • Develop detailed engineering designs and specifications for infrastructure components, considering safety, environmental sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure that designs align with project goals, budgets, and timelines.

Utility Systems:

  • Plan, review and design utility systems, including water supply, wastewater treatment, electrical distribution, and communication networks.
  • Optimize the efficiency and reliability of utility infrastructure while minimizing environmental impact.

Transportation and Access:

  • Design and oversee offshore transportation systems, including navigational routes, identification of ports/docks, and marine transport facilities.
  • Ensure accessibility and connectivity for offshore communities.

Environmental Sustainability:

  • Integrate sustainable design principles into infrastructure projects, such as renewable energy sources, green building practices, and wastewater recycling.
  • Minimize the environmental footprint of infrastructure systems.

Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Navigate regulatory processes to obtain permits, approvals, and licenses for infrastructure construction and operation.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable local and international standard

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for infrastructure projects, tracking expenditures and ensuring cost control.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to obtain materials and services within budget constraints.

Project Management:

  • Coordinate and oversee contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure that infrastructure projects are executed efficiently and safely.
  • Monitor project progress and address any issues or delays.

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Implement quality control processes to verify that construction work meets design specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections and quality assessments as necessary.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

  • Identify potential risks and challenges related to infrastructure projects and develop strategies for risk mitigation.
  • Develop contingency plans for unexpected events.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive records of infrastructure designs, construction activities, and maintenance procedures.
  • Prepare progress reports and technical documentation for project stakeholders and regulatory agencies


Infrastructure Engineer Experience:

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related. Minimum BSc
  • You will have demonstrable experience of delivering projects from concept through completion in a multi-disciplinary and/or multi-office project execution environment for a recognised consultancy in the GCC
  • You will be an experienced user of Infrastructure design software
  • At least 12 years of prior experience in the FEED, EPC as well as front end part of the engineering development for onshore and offshore projects.
  • A can do, hands on approach, able to work well under pressure and prioritize workload to meet project needs
  • Willing and quick to adapt to project/team needs and learn from experience
