Marine Civil Engineer - PMC

Our Global Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Marine Civil Engineer with experience in Marina and Jetty construction projects to join their team in NEOM, KSA. Successful candidates will have strong Marine Civil Engineering experience working on Marina and Jetty projects and ideally have worked for a recognised PMC / Consultancy business.
This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 6 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
Marine Infrastructure Design:
- Collaborate with architects and project teams to design marine and offshore structures, such as piers, docks, seawalls, and breakwaters, that align with the overall project vision and goals.
- Ensure that designs meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including compliance with maritime codes and regulations.
Site Assessment and Feasibility Studies:
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate the suitability of offshore locations for real estate development.
- Prepare feasibility studies that consider factors like wave and tidal patterns, soil conditions, and navigational access.
Environmental Compliance:
- Develop and implement environmental mitigation plans to minimize the impact of offshore construction on marine ecosystems.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits throughout the project lifecycle.
Structural Analysis and Stability:
- Perform structural analysis and stability assessments for marine structures to ensure they can withstand environmental forces, including waves, currents, and storm surges.
- Recommend design modifications and reinforcement as needed.
Materials and Equipment Selection:
- Select appropriate materials, coatings, and corrosion protection methods for marine infrastructure.
- Review/recommend marine equipment, such as mooring systems, fenders, and navigation aids.
Safety and Risk Management:
- Develop safety protocols and emergency response plans for offshore operations.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with marine construction and operation.
Project Management:
- Manage marine engineering aspects of real estate development projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and marine service providers.
Quality Control and Inspection:
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure that marine construction work meets design specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections of marine infrastructure to assess its condition and maintenance needs.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Navigate regulatory processes to obtain permits, licenses, and approvals for marine construction activities.
- Stay informed about changes in maritime regulations and industry standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive records of marine engineering designs, construction activities, and maintenance procedures.
- Prepare progress reports and technical documentation for project stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
Marine Civil Engineer Experience:
- Degree qualified in Civil / Marine or Coastal Engineering or related. Minimum BSc
- You will have demonstrable experience of delivering projects from concept through completion in a multi-disciplinary and/or multi-office project execution environment for a recognised consultancy in the GCC
- You will be an experienced user of design software
- At least 8 years of prior experience in Marine Civil Engineering Projects.
- A can do hands on approach, able to work well under pressure and prioritize workload to meet project needs
- Willing and quick to adapt to project/team needs and learn from experience
