Mechanical Design Engineer - Consultancy - 3-6 Month Contract

Our Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Dubai to work on prestigious new Buildings projects. Successful candidates will have a proven Consultancy background as a Mechanical Design Engineer on large scale buildings and infrastructure projects in the UAE.

This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 3-6 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs mechanical services design and coordination of all technical aspects of the design with other discipline team.
• Perform heat load calculations, duct sizing calculations, pressure drop calculations, HVAC equipment selections, sketch ducting layouts, diffuser/grille selections, plant sizing for low rise buildings, underground structures, infrastructure services buildings, etc
• Perform Pump stations and reservoir sizing, pump selections, pressure drop calculations, piping layout sketching, water tank design and sizing, pipe sizing calculations,
• Perform Fire fighting designs in line with UAE fire code requirements, standpipe & sprinkler system designs, Clean Agent suppression system designs, layout sketching
• Experience in HAP software, Hevacom, AutoCAD, Microstation & Revit,
• Develop design reports, specifications and assist in BOQ development and quantity takeoff
• Perform QAQC procedures.
• Knowledge on Estidama, UAE fire code, Uniform Plumbing Code, ADQCC, ADCD, ADDC & ADSSC specifications and design guidelines
• Prepare draft designs to Cad team, quide the Cad Team for correctness and monitor the progress.
• Initiates and maintains records, QA&QC, progress reports, etc., as required
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

Mechanical Design Engineer Experience:

• Masters/Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
• Preference will be given for candidates who are having professional association membership
• Engineering consultancy experience with a recognised Consultancy or PMC Business focused within UAE is preferred.
• A minimum of 8 + years of experience is mandatory.
• Strong design experience using, but not limited to Autodesk CAD, Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project
