MEP Quantity Surveyor (Data Centres) - PMCM

Our Multi National Project & Commercial Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a Consultant MEP Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Abu Dhabi, UAE to work on new build Data Centre and Hospitality & Retail build, fit out and refurbishment projects. Successful candidates will have strong Pre Contract Quantity Surveying experience and must have worked with a recognised consultancy company. Candidates must have very strong Pre Contract estimation and cost planning experience


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed with our client.


Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the pre-contract stage of Data Centre, Hospitality & Retail projects with a particular focus on MEP and Fit Out packages. This role requires hands-on experience in cost planning, contract administration, and risk management to ensure projects are completed within budget and meet financial compliance requirements.

  • Manage and oversee the pre-contract stage of Data Centre, Hospitality & Retail projects in-house, with a focus on Fit-out and MEP packages, including the preparation of bills of quantities, cost plans, and procurement schedules for these packages
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on project cost management, contract administration, and risk assessment to ensure project delivery is within budget and meets financial compliance requirements, with particular emphasis on Fit-out and MEP packages
  • Develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure that the project budget is aligned with the project requirements, with an emphasis on Fit-out and MEP packages
  • Monitor and report on project costs and variations, including the management of project change control procedures for Fit-out and MEP packages
  • Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of the construction industry, including cost trends and best practices for Fit-out and MEP packages
  • Project Budget services (direct, indirect, margins, markups and overheads).
  • Feasibility studies (cost per key, cost per m2 etc.);
  • Cost Planning and estimating (BCIS and NRM1);
  • Value Engineering, cash flow forecasts, Whole Life Costing, cost risk management;
  • Bills of Quantities production (NRM 2, POMI and CESSM3);
  • Tender services including compilation, tender analysis, negotiations and recommendations;
  • Contract drafting (FIDIC).
  • Attendance and representation at commercial meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Direct Manager


Consultant MEP Quantity Surveyor Experience:

  • BSC in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institution preferred
  • Experience in Data Centres is highly advantageous, Hospitality build, fit out and refurbishment projects is a must;
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience;
  • Minimum of 3 years regional experience, ideally UAE but open to other GCC countries
  • Must have consultant and/or client background for minimum of 2 years;
  • Must possess very strong pre-contract expertise.
  • Chartered status with MRICs is very advantageous
  • Knowledge in the use of QS software or similar is required;
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
  • Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.
