Modular Construction Engineer - Consultancy - 6 Month Contract

Our International Project Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Modular Construction Engineer with experience in leisure and entertainment and / or offshore projects to join their team in Dubai / Dammam (KSA). Successful candidates will have strong Modular Construction Engineering experience working on offshore or theme park projects and ideally have worked for a recognised PMC / Consultancy business.


The project is located in KSA, visa, accommodation and transport in the Kingdom with be provided by the client.


This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 6 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Design:

  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and stakeholders to plan and design modular construction projects for offshore facilities.
  • Evaluate the feasibility and suitability of modular construction methods for specific projects.  
  • Plan and lead the preconstruction strategy meetings on the approach to the project and ensure that potential risks have been evaluated and reviewed with senior management.

Modular System Design:

  • Develop detailed engineering designs for modular systems, considering safety, environmental sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure that modular designs align with project goals, budgets, and timelines.·       
  • Plan and lead the Modular Construction strategy meetings on the approach to the project and ensure that potential risks have been evaluated and reviewed with senior management.
  • Ensure that clearly defined, comprehensive and accurate scopes of work are completed for all work packages.

Vendor and Supplier Management:

  • Identify, select, and manage modular construction suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors.
  • Collaborate with vendors to develop and customize modular components to meet project specifications.

Quality Control and Assurance:

  • Implement quality control processes to ensure that modular components and structures meet design specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections and quality assessments as necessary.

Construction Oversight:

  • Oversee the installation and assembly of modular components on-site, ensuring they are executed safely and according to design plans.
  • Coordinate with contractors and construction teams to manage project progress.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Prioritize safety, ensuring that modular construction activities adhere to safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Develop and implement safety plans and protocols for modular construction sites.

Cost and Budget Management:

  • Prepare and manage budgets for modular construction projects, tracking expenditures and ensuring cost control.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source modular materials and services within budget constraints.

Environmental Considerations:

  • Promote environmentally responsible construction practices and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Implement measures to minimize the environmental impact of modular construction activities.

Technical Problem Solving:

  • Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges related to modular construction methods.
  • Collaborate with engineers and contractors to troubleshoot and implement solutions.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive records of modular construction designs, components, and installation processes.
  • Prepare progress reports and technical documentation for project stakeholders and regulatory agencies.


Modular Construction Engineer Experience:

  • Degree qualified in Architecture or Engineering. Minimum BSc
  • You will have demonstrable experience of delivering projects from concept through completion in a multi-disciplinary and/or multi-office project execution environment for a recognised consultancy in the GCC
  • You will be an experienced user of design software
  • At least 12 years of prior experience in the FEED, EPC as well as front end part of the engineering development for onshore and offshore projects.
  • A can do, hands on approach, able to work well under pressure and prioritize workload to meet project needs
  • Willing and quick to adapt to project/team needs and learn from experience
