Planning Engineer (Interiors/Fit Out) - D&B Contractor - 3 Month Contract

Our D&B Contracting client has a new requirement for a Planning Engineer experienced in managing an established baseline program and EOT claims to join their team in Dubai to work on a high spec, high value interior Fit Out project in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have experience as a Planning Engineer on major interior fit out and civils projects in the UAE and have worked in the capacity of Planning Engineer for a recognised main contracting or consultant company previously.


This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3 Month Contract as an outsource employed by J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining project schedules: This includes creating baseline schedules, monitoring progress, and updating schedules as needed.
  • Monitoring project progress: Tracking performance against the schedule and budget, identifying potential delays or cost overruns.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
  • Resource Allocation: Determining the resources needed for the project (labor, materials, equipment) and ensuring their efficient allocation.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Working with various project teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Reporting: Generating regular progress reports, including schedule updates, cost analysis, and risk assessments


Planning Engineer Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 4-5 years experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in Interior Fit Out / refurbishment and civil construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project planning and scheduling techniques and tools.
  • Proven experience in maintenance of master schedule, resources and cost loaded plans .
  • Leading in the production of project reports - internal and external.
  • Production of critical path review - identification of early project risk and mitigation proposals along with EOT claims preparation.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or other planning software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
