Planning Manager (Interiors & Civils) - Main Contractor - 6 Month Contract

Our Tier 1 Interiors Main Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced Planning Manager to join their team in Dubai to work on high profile Interior Fit Out, joinery and refurbishment projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Planning Manager on high end interior fit out and joinery projects in the UAE and have worked in the capacity of Planning Manager for a recognised interior fit out / main contracting company previously.


This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 6 Month Contract as an outsource employed by J10 Consulting.

There is an option to transfer to staff after 6 months to suit all parties


Key Responsibilities:

The Planning Manager leads the planning, scheduling, and resource management efforts of projects to ensure timely completion. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, monitoring progress, analyzing delays, optimizing resource utilization, and providing reports to stakeholders to enhance project efficiency.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including task sequencing, duration estimation, and resource allocation, using industry-standard tools.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Monitor project progress against baseline schedules, identifying and addressing potential delays or issues as needed.
  • Analyze causes of delays and disruptions, conduct delay analysis, and communicate findings to relevant parties.
  • Facilitate regular project status meetings to discuss schedule updates, resource allocation, and risks.
  • Collaborate with the cost control team to manage projects within approved budgets.
  • Assess resource requirements and availability, optimizing resource utilization through necessary adjustments.
  • Develop and present weekly and monthly reports on project status, progress, and deviations from the baseline schedule.
  • Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
  • Provide input into the development of risk management strategies and contingency plans.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, new tools, and technologies related to project planning and management.


Planning Manager Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in project planning and scheduling, preferably in Interior Fit Out, joinery and refurbishment projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and other scheduling tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address scheduling conflicts and delays effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset to manage complex project schedules accurately.
  • Knowledge of cost control, budget management, and risk assessment.
  • Leadership abilities to guide teams, resolve conflicts, and ensure project success
