PMV Manager - Main Contractor

Our Tier 1 Civil Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced PMV Manager to join their team in Dubai, to lead a large scale Plant, Machine and Vehicle division of a major Civil Contracting company. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a PMV Manager heading up large scale PMV operations and have worked with recognised main contractors previously, ideally in the UAE.
This role is available for immediate joining and is hiring on a permanent, direct hire basis, employed by our client
Key Responsibilities:
The PMV Manager (Plant, Machinery, and Vehicles) oversees the strategic and daily operations of construction fleets, heavy equipment, and transport vehicles. They optimize equipment allocation across active sites, enforce safety and compliance standards, and manage maintenance and budgets.
- Fleet Operations & Allocation: Plan and supervise the mobilization, demobilization, and day-to-day deployment of machinery, trucks, and light vehicles across project sites.
- Maintenance & Uptime: Build preventive maintenance programs, coordinate workshop repairs, and track machinery downtime to maximize fleet availability.
- Cost & Budget Control: Monitor operational costs, including fuel consumption, third-party rentals, spare parts inventory, and asset depreciation.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all assets comply with local transport authority laws (such as RTA regulations in Dubai), municipal safety permits, and internal HSE guidelines.
- Team Leadership: Manage a large staff of mechanics, workshop supervisors, transport coordinators, and equipment operators
PMV Manager Experience:
- A degree qualification in Engineering or any equivalent degree
- 10+ years of progressive experience in PMV, fleet, or operations management within the heavy construction or contracting sector
- Professional Memberships are an advantage but not essential (CIOB / CMILT).
- Operational experience in large scale, busy construction projects and programs
- Brings new ideas, approaches or insights to their work and suggests process improvements
- Proficiency in digital fleet management systems (FMS), GPS telematics, and computerized maintenance management software (CMMS)
- Strong familiarity with regional heavy transport rules, equipment registration, and site logistics.
- Demonstrates a good perspective and ability to explore innovative approaches in pursuit of a better way.
- Utilises new technology and helps others to adapt.
