Principal / Associate Mechanical Engineer - Consultancy

Our Global Design & Engineering Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Associate Director - Mechanical to join their team in Dubai to work on a high profile projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Principal / Lead Mechanical Engineer on large scale building projects with both technical and leadership expertise coupled with a proven background working in a recognised PMC or Consultancy business.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity, employed by our client.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides sound technical input and knowledge to projects and to the team.
• Technical leadership of projects and teams requiring in-depth technical involvement in projects.
• Contributes to the development and growth of the company by identifying new opportunities and potential areas for growth and improvement, and also maintaining and developing existing client relationships
• Manages an mechanical design team to ensure successful preparation and delivery of project objectives, including providing technical support
• Compiles specifications, drawings, and relevant contract documents, maintaining the required technical quality of work and ensuring that designs comply with the relevant codes, standards, regulations, and procedures
• Acts as the lead engineer and liaises with the client and external design team as necessary for successful delivery of projects
• Identifies scope and scheduling changes in accordance with the change control process, maintaining planning and cost control on all scope
• Assists with the recruitment, appraisal, performance, work, development, morale, and motivation of the team
• Provides directional and honest feedback to staff
• Provides mentoring and leadership to team under him/her

Principal / Associate Mechanical Engineer Experience:

• A relevant degree in Mechanical Building Services Engineering, or equivalent qualification or sufficient suitable experience
• CEng (or equivalent) with an appropriate professional body
• +15 years progressive experience up to Principal / Associate level and have worked in a recognised PMC / Consultancy company previously
• Recognised as an expert within the industry
• Experience in leading successful and dynamic teams
• Experience in technical leadership of large-scale projects
• Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
• Team player
• Energised, enthusiastic, motivated
• Behaviours which demonstrate integrity, straight-talking, respectful, and fair
