Principal Mechanical Engineer - Developer - VVIP Villas

Our Regional Developer client has a new requirement for a well experienced Consultant Prinicipal Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on new build VVIP Villa projects in the Emirate. Successful candidates will have extensive experience as a Lead or Principal Mechanical Engineer ideally with a recognised consultancy company background who have delivered at least one full life cycle VVIP Villa or Palace Project.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct, permanent hire opportunity with our client.


Key Responsibilities:

  • The use of Autodesk Revit tools to present design and engineering solutions for all projects.
  • Leading a team of Mechanical Engineers in research, planning, design and development of building engineering systems related to Mechanical Engineering
  • Oversee the administration of contracts with vendors and sub contractors for the provision of services and equipment.
  • Conduct reviews of engineering options and evaluations to validate the robust nature of new products and design solutions.
  • Ensure that all QAQC procedures are followed for the project, and work with the project team to close out all comments received from the QAQC reviewers.
  • Work with the Senior Mechanical Engineers to obtain project related approvals from the relevant local authorities.
  • Work on activities at project level within own field of responsibility.
  • Conduct initial design studies to address specific design problems and challenges.
  • Managing the onsite progress of all contractors and sub-contractors to ensure timely delivery of the project in line with the project baseline
  • Define Mechanical Engineering strategies and undertake feasibility works across numerous project types in UAE
  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
  • Undertake line manager responsibility for mechanical engineering team
  • Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies
  • Ensure the right resources are utilized effectively at the right time across their team and projects Including engaging other departments to ensure that communication and design processes are continually improved.


Consultant Mechanical Engineer Experience:

  • Bachelor's and / or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Thorough knowledge of of AutoCAD, BIM and HAP Cooling Load Software is desirable.
  • Proven experience with a recognised consultancy company is essential
  • Minimum of 12 years relevant experience (at least 4 in the UAE)
  • Full life cycle delivery of VVIP Villas or Similar project is advantageous
