Principal Structural Engineer - Consultancy - 3-6 Month Contract

Our well regarded Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join their team in Dubai, UAE to work on high profile high rise and mall projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Lead / Principal Structural Engineer on large scale high rise and mall build projects in the UAE and the wider GCC and a proven background working in a recognised PMC or Developer business.


This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3-6 Month Contract position as outsource employed by J10 Consulting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical / design management of structural packages (both permanent and temporary works)
  • Autonomously run the technical aspects of a project including Client, Contractor, and Design Team Coordination
  • Understand the commercial aspects of a project (contracts, invoicing, variations etc.)
  • Scheme and manage the production of 2D sequencing drawings, 3D models, and 4D sequencing models (prepared by the VDC/BIM team)
  • Analyse, programme, and sequence the construction of concrete/steel structures
  • Research and develop construction methodologies suitable for varying project activities
  • Develop logistics strategies, construction methodologies, and programmes
  • Site inspections to monitor progress and identify program, design, or safety risks
  • Comply with all policies and procedures


Principal Structural Engineer Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor s Degree in Structural Engineering. MSc preferred
  • A minimum of 12-15 years postgraduate experience in Structural Engineering on buildings and structures projects.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a leadership / management / supervisory capacity with recognised PMC or Engineering Consultancy companies in the UAE.
  • Site experience in estimation, installation and all site activities related to all Structural works for construction of large-scale high rise / mall projects in concrete/steel.
  • Familiar with all the Structural Engineering methodologies as well as the corresponding equipment, materials, consumables, tools and manpower allocations related to Structural works for building projects.
  • Well versed in managing, interpreting and executing Structural related drawings in 2D/3D/4D.
  • Have the knowledge of the related Authority’s requirements
