Procurement & Logistics Executive - Raw Materials

Our multi national general trading and services client has a new requirement for a well experienced Procurement & Logistics Executive to join their team in Dubai, UAE The role will require experience of sourcing from Asia (in particular India & China) Successful candidates will have extensive procurement executive experience with a proven background of sourcing Raw materials for production activities
This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational input and support to the business in the development of procurement strategies and share accountability for timely and successful execution of those strategies.
- Develop and maintain local and international supplier and market intelligence.
- Ensure the procurement team are adequately trained and competent to analyse their spend to support opportunities identification and assessment in the category teams
- Identify best practices and share within the company Purchasing community
- Support the implementation of global, regional and local procurement strategies.
- Contract Negotiation and spot buying:
- Lead and manage the country procurement team in the successful delivery of operational procurement services
- Identify, lead and manage contract negotiations, ensuring price, quality and service targets and standards are achieved
- Identify cost savings opportunities and work with the applicable business colleagues .
- Seek and take advantage of leverage opportunities.
- Review and approve contracts within designated authority limits, ensuring compliance with legislation and the company’s policies and procedures
- Supplier Management:
- Measure suppliers performance and service levels
- Review supplier performance on a regular basis to ensure compliance with terms and conditions of contract and where necessary take appropriate action to meet the business objectives
- People Management and Development:
- Manage the performance and development the procurement team members
- Provide direction, training and motivation necessary to secure their optimum commitment, competence and engagement.
- Provide coaching and development for team members and create a team environment that drives high colleague engagement.
Procurement & Logistics Executive Requirements:
- Minimum 5 to 10 years experience in Purchasing functions in large Corporations
- B.S. (or equivalent) in Business or a technical discipline. Master’s Degree desirable. MBA appreciated
- Certified Procurement Management accreditation ideal however not essential.
- Knowledge of procurement systems, processes and procedures
- Analytical and negotiation skills and techniques management skills in assessing business issues
- Project management skills to oversee a multiplicity of tasks in a cross functional/site/divisional environment
- Management of major procurement projects; excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal interactions skills.
- Demonstrated achievement of results including savings generation, improvements to supplier relationships, improvements in product quality and service delivery desired.
- High ability to create a performing team
- Excellent communication & business relational management
- Ability to influence key internal stakeholders is paramount with a strong emphasis on relationship building.
- Excellent Change Management skills
- Excellent languages skills (English as a must)
