Project Controls Engineer - PPP Schools & Healthcare Programme

Our multi-national Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Project Controls Engineer to join their team in Doha, Qatar. Successful candidates will have extensive Project Control experience on large scale PPP projects including Education & Healthcare facilities.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent employment opportunity.


Responsibilities:

  • This position shall assist the CMU Lead and the Commercial Manager in the management of Project Control requirements for the Projects; Identifies, develops and promotes Programme and Project required project control polices;
  • Attendance at relevant meeting
  • Ensures and reviews project controls compliance related to the Projects;
  • Competently delivers technical project control requirements on planning, programming, commercial, risk and delivery matters;
  • Drafts, reviews and recommends project control related documents as required;
  • Arranges project controls workshops / meetings to discuss and assist in closing project control issues;
  • Reviews and provides inputs on project control systems which measure the progress / performance, provide early warning of deviations from plan and identifies corrective actions to be taken;
  • Develops draft Monitoring and Reporting System for review by the CMU Lead and the Engineer;
  • Manages all project control aspects for the Consultant for the monthly reports to the Engineer;
  • Develops the document control system and communication flow for the project;
  • Automates the compilation of data and delivery of periodic performance reports where possible;


Project Controls Engineer Requirements:

  • University degree from a recognised university in an appropriate field such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent; Experience of working on PPP projects or end-to-end output driven design and build developmental projects;
  • Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience post graduation with experience in major buildings or infrastructure projects or programmes;
  • Experience on schools and primary healthcare projects;
  • Demonstrable track record in project controls for multiple concurrent end-to-end PPP projects or output driven design and build developmental projects;
  • In-depth knowledge of project controls procedures;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively;
  • Team oriented and flexible to suit a fluid process being developed on a restricted schedule;
  • Current and detailed knowledge of various scheduling, cost, collaboration and other IT applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Project, and Primavera P6);
  • Technically proficient in all aspects of project controls such as planning, analysis and managing process and commercial considerations;
  • Effective in building good working relationships within complex structures, both internally and with various project stakeholders

Desirable requirements

  • Relevant Project Controls professional qualification;
  • Experience of working in Qatar and / or the Gulf region
