Project Coordinator (Interior Design) - Consultancy - 3 Month Contract

Our International design consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Interior Design Coordinator to join their team in Dubai. Successful candidates will have strong ID, Fit out and finishing coordination experience and major project exposure in hospitality and mixed use high rise towers projects. Candidates must have consultancy company background.


This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 3 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Design Managers in execution of design change management and building products details research and development.
  • Assist designers & project managers in validating feedback from consultants and communicating resolutions to issues and project concerns; disseminates resolved information to the project team.
  • Represent department both externally and internally.
  • Provides relevant information and highlight any issues/concerns to the project manager and/or lead designer that may affect the design during development.
  • Analyze project requests from management to identify project goals and objectives and provides feedback / solutions to the project manager.
  • Sets internal target datelines based on overall project program provided by Project Manager.
  • Assign scheduled tasks to the Interior Design project technical team and make sure that the project is on track, to ensure client deadlines are met in a timely manner.
  • Create tracking system of communications, instructions, and modifications and ensures that they are implemented into the documentations.
  • Manage and sets deliverable goals for each specific design stage and reports to the project manager on project status.
  • Instigate quality assurance and quality control protocols to all documentations, reviews documents and details from internal team, prior to submission to the project manager.
  • Coordinates with technical consultants on any project issues that affects Interior Design Scope.
  • Involved in project management under PM from initiation to closure.
  • Assist in maintenance and improvement of design guideline documents.
  • Seek methods to improve processes and documentation standards.
  • To assist in the review of Contractor’s submittals e.g. RFIs, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, etc. as per project specifications
  • To provide technical inputs regarding project specifications and authority regulations.
  • To assist in the review of Contractor’s progress and commercial reports.
  • To manage and facilitate the snagging/de-snagging documentations.
  • To review ID closeout documentations like as-built drawings, O&M Manuals, Warranties etc


Interior Design Coordinator requirements:

  • Must possess Minimum of 5 years of extensive practical experience in the field as Interior & Finishing Coordinator.
  • Associate’s degree in Interior Design or a related field.
  • Must have Revit experience.
  • Experience in hotel and mixed use high rise projects is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal English skills for completing reports and attending meetings is required.
