Operations Director - Temporary Power Projects

Our International Events and Power client has a new requirement for a well experienced Operations Director to join their team in Qatar to work on an extensive temporary power and temperature control project roll out in the State. Successful candidates will have extensive Operational Management experience in temporary power and temperature control of major, high profile projects & developments.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire opportunity employed directly with our client.


Responsibilities:

  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members, vendors and management
  • Organizational skills and time management skills to keep projects on track to the finish
  • Project managing skills to start projects and finish projects successfully
  • Create management, communication plans and processes.
  • Analyze and develop procedures for management and technical duties.
  • Define project responsibilities with stakeholders.
  • Participate in how budget and staff are allocated for the project.
  • Maintain project time frames, budget estimates and status reports
  • Direct and oversee operations staff to ensure that they are motivated and trained to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that core operational functions achieve their business objectives.
  • Develop and control operational budgets to promote profitability and ensure the company has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters.
  • Oversee purchasing to ensure that the company has the goods and services required for production purposes within agreed costs and quality standards and at the right times.
  • Direct and control warehousing and distribution functions to ensure that sites are supplied with the right quantities of goods at the right times.
  • Direct and control supply chain operations.
  • Develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure safe and healthy working environments across all site locations.
  • Evaluate overall company performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Act as the company’s main adviser on all issues relating to operational functions and keep abreast of latest developments to ensure that the company maintains its competitive position.


Project Director Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent and relevant professional qualifications
  • 10+ years in delivering operational excellence in temporary power projects. 
  • Extensive operations management experience 
  • Thorough knowledge of the company and its products and processes
  • Analytical skills to evaluate data and performance/operation metrics 
  • Excellent inter-personal and negotiating skills
  • Excellent organisational and leadership abilities
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent decision-making skills
  • Reporting the projects progress in a professional and timely manner
