Project Manager - Overlay - Stadiums & Sports Facilities

Our International Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Overlay Project Manager to join their team in Doha at a FIFA World Cup Stadium project. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Overlay Project Manager on large scale including Overlay projects with specific experience in sports facilities projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Overlay team is responsible for the design, procurement, installation, management and subsequent removal of all temporary event Overlay required for the successful operation of the FIFA World Cup.
  • The Project Manager - Overlay will ensure the delivery, event-time site management and legacy reinstatement components of the Overlay project are achieved. The Project Manager - Overlay interfaces with all project stakeholders to manage an Overlay Site Management program in line with and contributing to the wider project delivery.
  • Manage the development and delivery of Overlay projects;
  • Support in the development of the Operating Manual for event-time site management operations;
  • Work closely with Event Operations to provide a seamless site management operation;
  • Work closely with the venue readiness team to ensure all FWC requirements are met for both Test Events and event time;
  • Ensure close collaboration with capital works projects to coordinate and delivery seamless project and operations;
  • Coordinate with Cost and Procurement team to ensure project cohesion, budget control and procurement efficiencies;
  • Support Operational Site Management roles, processes and procedures for the event phase to manage the overlay installation and contractors;
  • Support in issue resolution on Overlay Projects and report on unsolved issues, including recommendations and solutions for escalation;
  • Ensure compliance to Policies, Procedures and Regulations as applicable to ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met, and report on deviations;
  • During the event support the Overlay project control centre in Operations Centres;


Overlay Project Manager Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering from accredited University
  • Minimum 15 years of project management experience with well-known international firms.
  • Experience and proven ability to lead and manage an engineering team on large multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
  • Comprehensive experience of technical design and associated discipline software
  • Member of associated Professional body
  • CEng preferred although not essential
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office
  • Experience of Electromechanical and Civil Installations and Overlay is essential.
  • Experience of working on large scale sports facilities is essential.
