Project Planner / Planning Engineer - Interior Fit Out

Our Leading Interiors & Fit Out client has a new requirement for a well experienced project Planner to join their team in Dubai, UAE. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Planning Engineer on high end interior fit out and refurbishment projects in UAE and the wider GCC and have worked for a leading interior fit out contracting or project management business previously


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent position employed directly by our client.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of tender programs and project programs in accordance to budget parameters aligned with the company’s ISO Management System procedures and processes.
  • Monitoring planned versus actual progress in each project and advice the management on areas to be re-prioritized and resource requirements for recovering lags or delays if any.
  • Reporting project progress through weekly Contractor’s Progress Report (CPR) to client
  • Prepare pilot programs in MS project for on time submission of tenders.
  • Understand the norms and logics in the construction works and develop realistic work programs. Assign resources and costs for activities and generating a complete work program in consultation with Project Director/Project Manager.
  • Update project completion schedule/program of works inclusive of the daily circulation file.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Monitor and track drawing and product sample submissions in accordance with the program deliverables providing input on risks to the project delivery.
  • Monitor and track procurement schedule in accordance with the program deliverables providing input on risks to the project delivery.
  • Monitor and track Request for Information (RFI) in accordance with the program deliverables providing input on risks to the project delivery.
  • Monitor and track Variation logs, Design logs, Site Instruction logs and report on risks to the project delivery.
  • Monitor the progress of each project, prepare and submit weekly Contractor’s Progress Report (CPR) to client.
  • Monitor and report on the project completion schedule/program of works, planned versus actual in each project and advise the management on areas to be re-prioritized and resource requirements recovering lags or delays if any.
  • Analyzing delays and preparation of Extension of Time Claims (EOT Claims).
  • Preparation of recovery programs for delayed projects.
  • Organize and prepare O & M manuals to submit on project handing over date.
  • Attend and provide input to the weekly Projects Team meeting.


Project Planner - Interiors Experience:

  • B.Sc degree in a relevant Engineering or Architecture discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Interior projects or project management
  • Planning of Interior Fit Out & Refurbishment projects of scope and size
  • Proven track record of having contributed to the development of procedures related to planning and schedules review.
  • 5+ years of experience in planning management and cost engineering
  • Certification in planning and scheduling of projects and in using Primavera applications (Primavera Project Management / P6 and Primavera Contract Management / Expedition)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to handle complex situations with professionalism and confidentiality
