Quantity Surveyor - Consultancy - 6 Month Contract

J10 Consulting has a new requirement for a Consultant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Dubai, UAE to work on Commercial, Retail, leisure & entertainment build, fit out and refurbishment projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have strong Quantity Surveying experience and must have with a recognised consultancy company background.

This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 6 month contract position employed as an outsource through J10 Consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Contract

• Project Budget services (direct, indirect, margins, markups and overheads).
• Feasibility studies (cost per key, cost per m2 etc.);
• Cost Planning and estimating (BCIS and NRM1);
• Value Engineering, cash flow forecasts, Whole Life Costing, cost risk management;
• Bills of Quantities production (NRM 2, POMI and CESSM3);
• Tender services including compilation, tender analysis, negotiations and recommendations;
• Contract drafting (FIDIC).

Post Contract

• Management of bonds, insurances and guarantee logs;
• Interim valuations and payment certificates;
• Variations analysis, recommendations and management;
• Risk and value management and cost control functions;
• Costs analysis project work;
• Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks;
• Preparation of progress/ cost reports;
• Reporting to Senior Commercial Manager on all commercial issues;
• Understanding the implications of authorities regulations and health and safety regulations;
• Attendance and representation at commercial meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Direct Manager

Consultant Quantity Surveyor Experience:

• BSC in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institution preferred
• Experience in Commercial, Retail, Leisure & Entertainment build, fit out and refurbishment projects is a must;
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience;
• Minimum of 2 years regional experience, ideally UAE but open to GCC countries
• Must have consultant and/or client background for minimum of 2 years;
• Knowledge in the use of QS software or similar is required;
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
• Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.
