Quantity Surveyor - Consultancy - Schools - 11 Month Contract

Our Global Project Management Consultancy (PMC) client has a new requirement for a well experienced Consultant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on a new build school project in the Emirate. Successful candidates will have extensive Quantity Surveying experience experience ideally with a recognised consultancy company background.

This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 11 month contract hire opportunity as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre contract commercial lead

• Cost Planning and estimating (BCIS and NRM1);
• Value Engineering, cash flow forecasts, Whole Life Costing, risk management;
• Bills of Quantities production (POMI and CESSM3);
• Tender services including compilation, tender analysis, negotiations and recommendations;
• Contract drafting (FIDIC);

Post contract commercial lead (managing delivery team);

• Management of bonds, insurances and guarantee logs;
• Interim valuations and payment certificates;
• Variations analysis, recommendations and management;
• Risk and value management and cost control functions;
• Costs analysis project work;
• Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;
• Preparation of progress/ cost reports;
• Reporting to Associate Director on all commercial issues;
• Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations;
• Attendance and representation at commercial meetings.

Consultant Quantity Surveyor Experience:

• MRICS status is preferred
• BSC in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institution
• Experience in full life cycle delivery of a new build school experience is must;
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience;
• Minimum of 5 years’ UAE, UK or international experience;
• Must have consultant and/or client background for minimum of 2 years;
• Knowledge in the use of QS software or similar is required;
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
• Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.
