Quantity Surveyor - Developer

Our Developer client has a new requirement for a well experienced Consultant QS or Cost Controller to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on projects in the Emirate. Successful candidates will have extensive Quantity Surveying experience experience ideally with a recognised consultancy company background.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed with our client.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Contract

• Project Budget services (direct, indirect, margins, markups and overheads).
• Feasibility studies (cost per key, cost per m2 etc.);
• Cost Planning and estimating (BCIS and NRM1);
• Value Engineering, cash flow forecasts, Whole Life Costing, cost risk management;
• Bills of Quantities production (NRM 2, POMI and CESSM3);
• Tender services including compilation, tender analysis, negotiations and recommendations;
• Contract drafting (FIDIC).

Post Contract

• Management of bonds, insurances and guarantee logs;
• Interim valuations and payment certificates;
• Variations analysis, recommendations and management;
• Risk and value management and cost control functions;
• Costs analysis project work;
• Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks;
• Preparation of progress/ cost reports;
• Reporting to Senior Commercial Manager on all commercial issues;
• Understanding the implications of authorities regulations and health and safety regulations;
• Attendance and representation at commercial meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Direct Manager

Consultant Senior Quantity Surveyor Experience:

• MRICS status is preferred
• BSC in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institution
• Experience in Residential, and / or retail and / or hospitality experience is must;
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience;
• Minimum of 5 years’ UAE, UK or international experience;
• Must have consultant and/or client background for minimum of 2 years;
• Knowledge in the use of QS software or similar is required;
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
• Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills.
