Quantity Surveyor - Events

Our multi national Events and exhibitions contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Riyadh, KSA. Successful candidates will have strong pre and post contract experience on all size events and exhibition projects in the GCC.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent employment opportunity.


Responsibilities

The QS is a sensitive role that is understanding, quantifying, budgeting and managing the costs of the technical, contractual and financial side of construction projects relevant to the approved design and comparing the BOQ to the available technical drawings package. This role can lead to great saving or a big loss.


The QS will work closely with the PMO and the Technical team across the projects cycle end to end to ensure safe planning and costing.

Deeply involved in the managing of variation orders and progress billing. The QS will also assist the procurement team in tendering and assembling bidding documents


The successful candidates will seek to minimise the cost and risk of the project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required legal standards and quality. This includes ensuring meeting authorities regulations and priorities of using local materials supplies. The candidates KPIs defined by keeping track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability.

Identify, analyses and develop responses to commercial risks.

Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour and time.

Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.

Review architectural plans and prepare quantity needs

Estimate the quantity and costs of materials


The current projects are mostly entailing impressive temporary and semi-permanent builds for entertainment and mega cultural events as part of the Saudi Seasons in addition to other stand-alone events/projects.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction engineering, management, or related field
  • 5-10 years of general construction estimating experience, financial experience, construction experience, or related field
  • Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to analyze financial records and apply data to improved results
  • Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
  • Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets; strong estimating and financial analysis skills
