Quantity Surveyor - PM/CM Consultancy

Our Multi National Project & Commercial Management Consultancy client has a new requirement for a Consultant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on Commercial, Retail, leisure & entertainment build, fit out and refurbishment projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have strong Quantity Surveying experience ideally with a recognised consultancy company background.


This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed with our client.


Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Contract

  • Project Budget services (direct, indirect, margins, markups and overheads).
  • Feasibility studies (cost per key, cost per m2 etc.);
  • Cost Planning and estimating (BCIS and NRM1);
  • Value Engineering, cash flow forecasts, Whole Life Costing, cost risk management;
  • Bills of Quantities production (NRM 2, POMI and CESSM3);
  • Tender services including compilation, tender analysis, negotiations and recommendations;
  • Contract drafting (FIDIC).


Post Contract

  • Management of bonds, insurances and guarantee logs;
  • Interim valuations and payment certificates;
  • Variations analysis, recommendations and management;
  • Risk and value management and cost control functions;
  • Costs analysis project work;
  • Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks;
  • Preparation of progress/ cost reports;
  • Reporting to Senior Commercial Manager on all commercial issues;
  • Understanding the implications of authorities regulations and health and safety regulations;
  • Attendance and representation at commercial meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Direct Manager


Consultant Quantity Surveyor Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimating, preferably in construction, and engineering.
  • Proficiency in estimation software (e.g. Bluebeam, CostX, or similar)
  • Must have experience with pre-contract high level cost planning through to BQ production together with post-contract commercial activities. Experience with measurement for BQ production under POMI, CESMM 3 and 4 and NRM is preferred. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to professional excellence.
