Quantity Surveyor - PPP Schools & Healthcare Programme

Our multi-national Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Doha, Qatar. Successful candidates will have extensive Quantity Surveying experience on large scale PPP projects including Education & Healthcare facilities.

This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this position is responsible for reviewing and certifying payments, change requests and claims;
• Provides commercial support relating to the PPPAs
• Responsible for tracking, reviewing and processing payments to Project Companies as per the PPPA provisions and the PWA procedures;
• Supports the Commercial Manager and the Contracts Manager with the management of changes, claims, variations and addendums;
• Defines and recommends the level of detail required to support payment applications;
• Calculates and recommends deductions to be applied to payments;
• Prepare a monthly cost report for each of the PPPAs;
• Liaises with the Contracting Authorities, Project Companies, relevant departments within the PWA and Qatar Ministry of Finance for PPPA payment matters;
• Proactively identifies and escalates payment issues to the Commercial Manager;
• Tracks, manages and ensures commercial actions are completed in a timely manner

Quantity Surveyor Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience post graduation;
• Experience in major building projects or programs;
• Experience of certifying payments for Project Companies on PPP projects or large developmental projects;
• Desirable to have experience of working with government agencies and clients;
• Computer knowledge relating to the quantity surveying field;
• Astute in commercial and quantity surveying matters
• University degree from a recognised university in an appropriate field such as Quantity Surveying or equivalent;
• Experience of working on PPP projects or large output driven design and build developmental projects;
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken
• Experience of working in Qatar or the Gulf region
