Quantity Surveyor - Value Engineering - MMUP Grade A - Consultancy

Our Global Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for well experienced consultant Quantity Surveyor with strong experience in Value Engineering to join their team in Doha, Qatar on high profile new projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Quantity Surveyor in Value Engineering for large scale projects in the State of Qatar. Only Candidates holding MMUP Grade A accreditation will be considered for this role as per the clients request.
This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent placement with our client.
Key Responsibilities:
To be successful, you must be a qualified MMUP Grade A registered Quantity Surveyor , with a minimum 15 years’ post graduate experience 5 years of which working in Value Engineering, contributing to a diverse range of projects such as large residential, commercial, educational, medical/hospital and infrastructure developments. You will also have:
- Extensive Knowledge and experience with Value Engineering (VE) studies procedures and guidelines.
- Facilitate all required value engineering workshops within client projects
- Manage and direct all works related to VE studies for all projects
- Monitor the implementation of all VE studies and the outcome of these studies, making recommendations and monitoring the outcomes.
- High level understanding of commercial frameworks and drivers of construction contractors, government, semi-government and private-sector clients
- Highly developed and open communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to influence others through sound negotiating skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of local authority regulations, guidelines, and contracts.
- Ability to liaise and coordinate with the other multi-discipline project teams including contractor, subcontractors and authority liaison.
- Middle East experience and a working knowledge of design and construction practices specific to this region is a must.
- Understanding, identifying, and assessing project risks.
- Update and Improve VE procedures and guidelines.
Quantity Surveyor - Value Engineering - MMUP Grade A Experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience and at least 3 in a recognised International Consultancy
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Value Engineering
- Chartered status with RICS will be viewed favourably
- MMUP Grade A is essential for this role.
