Resident Engineer - Consultancy - 3 Month Contract

Our Global Engineering consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced Resident Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi. Successful candidates will have strong Engineering and Supervision on buildings projects (not Infrastructure)
Only candidates who have worked on building as a Resident Engineer for a recognised consultancy or PMC business in the UAE previously will be considered for the role in hand.
This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 3 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, and ensures adequate staffing, execution, and monitoring of all field engineering activities and related support operations.
- Provides guidance regarding scope of work, schedules, procedures, field construction problems, and other technical information.
- Determines budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
- Establishes, monitors, and maintains construction engineering quality control in the field.
- Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
- Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.
- Establishes and maintains a close working relationship with project design engineering, client representatives, and contractors.
- Maintains project control documentation, design drawings and specifications, back-charge documents, change orders, etc.
- Monitors contractor performance pertaining to schedule and conformance to plans and specifications.
- Conducts performance evaluations for assigned personnel.
- Makes decisions regarding long-range planning, scheduling, budgeting, work priorities, and personnel.
- Provide advice on field engineering procedures, construction methods, and financial matters to management.
- Frequently interfaces with upper-level management and client personnel.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Resident Engineer Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 10 years or (MSc) Degree with 7 years post graduate experience in site supervision and contract administration.
- Experience in managing process, engineering contracts, contractual maters, value engineering, systems, procedures and policies.
- Proven experience of working in a recognised PMC or Engineering Consultancy company
- Relevant IT skills / computer literate.
- Emphasis on Quality Assurance, Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.
- Should be able to review shop drawings and carry out acceptance / factory tests, ensuring the compliance with the project’s Specifications.
- Excellent Command of English both written and spoken.
- Must have a sound knowledge of contractual relationships.
- Knowledge of international standards, codes and ADM regulations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes as well as working knowledge of industry practices.
